Working at Granger & Co. was my first experience of hospitality. Working as a waiter in the Clerkenwell branch in London meant I was interacting and assisting a wide variety of people. Granger & Co. attracted many people who were using the space to conduct meetings, people who were having a brunch with their friends and people who were hosting office parties. Working in this environment meant I was faced with the diverse requirements customers can have. Every customer is unique and desire different types of service. Working in this environment meant I was exposed to all facets of client relations, and to give the best possible experience required working as a team with other wait staff, communicating who had ordered and who required assistance.
In this role I demonstrated reliability, teamwork, communication and client service.

I worked as a Test Site Operative throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Working as a Test Site Operative involved 12-hour shifts on the drive-through site in Gloucester and the walk-in site in Cheltenham. My responsibilities included building the test bags, assisting customers with their tests, directing cars into the test site, and collecting and processing the clients' tests. Team work and communication were key in this role to ensure that the experience for clients was as smooth, fast and safe as possible.
My experience in this fast-paced environment will enable me to quickly adapt to other career paths and reflects my drive and motivation to work hard and achieve the best results for my team.
Sep 2018 - Sep 2019
This was my first experience of professional life. I worked at B&Q Cheltenham throughout my gap year after Sixth Form to earn money to support me through university. My role at B&Q was a showroom assistant. I was responsible for stocking shelves, assisting customers and fulfilling customer orders. I worked here for a year and built on key communication and team work skills that made me an asset to the organisation. I was always reliable and regularly worked overtime on other departments to enhance my knowledge of organisation outside of the showrooms department.
This role showcased my ability to quickly learn the workings of the retail sector and as the sole stock replenishment employee for the Showrooms department, I was key in the department achieving the highest 'off the shelf' showroom sales for B&Q mini-warehouses in the UK.

During the summer of 2017 I was selected to take part in the Member of Parliament for Cheltenham's (who is now also the Lord Chancellor) yearly internship programme at the Conservative Party office in Brockworth, Gloucester. This programme enlightened me to the working of an MP's local constituency office, the processes of government and the requirements on an MP in daily life. Part of the internship involved public speaking, where I wrote a mock-maiden speech and presented to Alex, his staff and the rest of the interns. The final part of the internship was a debate on the UK's need for the Trident missile system which took place in the Municipal council chambers in Cheltenham. Overall, this experience instilled in me a greater interest in government and policy and increased my motivation to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at University.
